The day we spent at The Grand Canyon National park was an amazing day.
I have never seen so much wonder and awe on the faces of our children... ever!
The sheer size of the canyon makes it hard to comprehend just what you are seeing and how big it really is. The reason for this is because when you are standing before it, it looks as if you are viewing the biggest IMAX screen ever made.
Our Heavenly Father has created such beautiful wonders for us to enjoy and I am grateful, once again, that we are able to share these creations with our little ones. We are so blessed!
THE GRAND CANYON.
We hiked down the Bright Angel Trail. The kids begged us to be able to hike down into the Grand Canyon.... all the way to the bottom.
We didn't go for that. They would have complained about the 5 hour coming back up part.... NO THANKS!
There was an arch on the trail. The kids thought it looked magical.
Our little bunch above the south rim.
They loved these rock formations. I thought they were the perfect place to stop and have a snack.... pudding cups, granola bars and water.
What a cool view. Some random stranger from Russia asked if he could take our picture for us. (I think that's what he asked...LOL) Click, Click...You?
Brendon's best part about the day was huge size of the canyon.
Morgan's best part about the day was that she 'got to go on an awesome vacation.'
Ashton's favorite thing about the Grand Canyon was 'all the different beautiful colors.'
He has always had an incredible soft side for natural beauty. The artist in him sees things that the other kids always miss.
Jensen's favorite part about the day was..... 'eating pudding'. Oh yeah, and the rock formation called the Buddha Temple.
He wants to be a park ranger so badly. I think that would be an awesome job.
Another beautiful view.
SAY CHEESE... OK, by this time Ashton was all done smiling for the day. At least we didn't have any melt-downs.
Visiting the Fred Harvey Museum. Fred Harvey helped build the railroad system and hotel system in the park.
Standing on the edge. Breathtaking!
Whenever we visit National Parks the kids earn another Junior Ranger Badge. I love that they are able to learn about what they are seeing and doing in a fun way. Caiden has finally started collecting the badges too. In this picture they are taking the oath to protect their national parks. GOOD JOB GUYS!!!
A magical way to end the day. The colors, texture and feelings of the day were perfectly wonderful.
